"Tacos y Otras Cosas/Prints from the Permanent Collection" Fete set for Sunday, April 28 @ Miller Park Complex
(Sacramento,CA) La Raza Galeria Posada will be hosting an afternoon opportunity to see work rarely available for public viewing at "Tacos y Otras Cosas" ( Tacos & Other Things) on Sunday afternoon, April 28. The event will be held outdoors at the Miller Art Complex, new home of the Galeria.
This exhibition of ten newly framed prints from La Raza Galeria's permanent collection is from the early 1970s. Featured work by Esteban Villa, Armando R. Cid and Rudy Cuellar from the Royal Chicano Air Force, the influential 1960s Sacramento-based arts/activist collective; the cerebral and soulful work of Jack Alvarez; the world-renowned sculptor Luis Jimenez and Placer County Arts Council Native & Mexican-American artist/mentor Stan Padilla. There are also two unsigned prints--one from the RCAF and the other from the San Francisco Poster Brigade. The SF Poster Brigade, the brainchild of artist Rachael Romero, was an arts and activist movement in San Francisco from 1975-1982.
