6th Annual Dia del Nino/KiDDay!

The Latino Center of Art & Culture is pleased to announce The 6th "Día del Niño/KiDDay!" Festival. This popular free event is a day to honor kids--their happiness and enthusiasm and possibility. Location for the afternoon event is the tree-laden LCAC grounds at 2700 Front Street, just south of Broadway.
Featured in this event will be art-making projects, storytelling, ballet folklorico, games and live music. Healthy food and beverages will also be available. The Sacramento River Cats street team will be on hand with their games booth and info on their new spring/summer Latino outreach program, along with the LEAD Latino Club from Cosumnes Oaks High School.
Also on hand will be Roberto López with his dog Marx from CARDA - California Rescue Dog Association.
The major focus will be on kids themselves, and so part of center stage performances will be children. Gates open at 11 am and programming runs from 11:30 am-3 pm.
Some of the featured adult performers are members of the very popular El Corro of Sacramento-- guitarist/singer/storytellers Peter Baird and Michael Hirsher, as well as the leader of the Coro, Dinorah (2017 Sammies Award winner for Best World Music.)
Capoeira Água de Beber - Capoeira evolved in colonial Brazil as a fusion of martial arts and West African music and dance.
El Instituto De Musica Musart - Children singers (Woodland, CA)
Stanley & Yolanda Lucero (Madera, California )- Children songs, stories and games - Most of the songs are over 100 years old and are currently being sung by children throughout the Spanish speaking world.

Celebrating artist Frida Kahlo, this one-day event features the popular “Dress up like Frida Kahlo Look-Alike Contest.” Join us for a Little Frida Children's Parade with fabulous prizes, art workshops, local vendors and ballet folklórico for kids, plus food and drink! Special performance by mariachis and art exhibition.
9th Annual El Panteón De Sacramento
Día De Los Muertos/Day Of The Dead
October 27-28, 2018
On Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28th 2018, Sacramento will again commemorate Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead with the 9th Annual El Panteón de Sacramento. Fifty large altares created by families, friends and community non-profits form the urban re-creation of small village cemeteries in Mexico. Live music, dance and spoken word, plus a mercado/marketplace with traditional foods are part of the 48-hour event.
The event is FREE to the public and attracts thousands of visitors, predominantly families. El Panteón de Sacramento is created outdoors in the parking lot on J and K and 20th and 21st Streets in bustling Midtown Sacramento. We expect over 12,000 visitors. Crowds have increased every year and has become a destination weekend event for California.
6th Annual La Pastorela de Sacramento

A wildly popular holiday musical for kids and adults alike. This Pastorela is a wonderful example of original community political theater mixed with cultural traditions mixed with holiday spirit! December 6-9, 2018, the 4-day run is at the historic Guild Theater in Oak Park. La Pastorela de Sacramento will attract over 1500 revelers with live music, and good will towards all!
